Get Hair Inspiration Straight from the Runway in 3 Steps or Less

This summer we are inspired by the fabulous hairstyles that have been on the runways all year. From the beautiful messy bun at the Jenny Packham shows to the fabulous braided bangs and twists seen at the Nanette Lepore at the 2014 runways at New York Fashion Week. We have comprised the top 3 looks from the runway with just 3 easy steps.

The Messy Bun in 3 Quick Steps

  1. Gather your hair into a loose ponytail, high or low both look good. Don’t worry if it isn’t sleek and perfectly coifed back. Remember, we are perfecting an effortless look.
  2. Tease the tail of your ponytail in two or three sections. This will create volume and texture. We recommend using a volumizing shampoo like our product from Eufora. It works great for thin, fine hair and is made with vegan products.
  3. Separate your now teased hair into two section and wrap it in opposite directions around the base of the ponytail. Secure the hair with a bobby pin about an inch from the bottom of your strands, leaving the ends to fray around the bun and voila! A perfectly messy bun.

The Milkmaid Braid or Halo Braid in 3 Steps

  1. Part your hair in the middle and section it into two separate pigtails.
  2. French braid one side, beginning at the nape of the neck and work the braid across the top of the head, similar to a headband. Pin this down with a few inconspicuous hair pins.
  3. On the other side, French braid but begin at the top and then work it down. With the braided tail left over, pin it around the nape of the neck and secure it to the other braid. Depending on how long your hair is, you may have a double braid at the top.

The Braided Bang in just 3 Steps

  1. Spray the roots all the way to the tips with volumizing spray, or use a volumizing shampoo.
  2. Section the hair off and blow it dry for a little bit of extra oomph.
  3. Loosely curl the sections with a large barrel curling iron then take the front section of the hair and begin a braid at the forehead moving down on the side of the face.
