Holiday Looks to Inspire You
With Thanksgiving here and Christmas just around the corner, holiday parties are becoming abundant. This week, Salon Helena shares three looks to inspire you this holiday season as you get ready to celebrate.
The Updo
Nothing says glamorous and upscale like a gorgeous up-do. The top bun is a simple look that dresses up any party and can be customized and unique for every person. First, start by creating volume with your hair using a round brush or large rollers so you will be able to better piece your hair together. Next, pull your hair up in a high pony-tail on the top of your head. Use a “hair donut” to create the width of the bun. These are available at any beauty supply store. Pull your hair through the “hair donut” and spread it evenly around the donut, completely covering it. Wrap the left over length around the base of the bun and pin it with bobby pins. To make it more festive, try modifying it by sectioning the leftover hair into two pieces and braiding or curling them before wrapping them around the bun.
The Half-Updo
Whether you have short, medium or long hair, a half-updo will look fantastic. This type of hairstyle is flattering on almost everyone and can be modified to look unique and special no matter the occasion. This holiday season, we recommend going simple by adding some beautiful curls or finger waves. Then gather one side and sweep it up, pinned with a vintage or dazzling hairpin. If you want it a little more glamorous, try creating a side bun with a braid, this will look both simple and gorgeous.
