What’s Hot with Winter Hair?

It’s the middle of winter. The holidays have passed, but the Spring seems light years away. It’s the perfect time to mix things up a bit with a new look! Winter haircuts, colors and styles for 2011 are sassy and fun!

Cuts

Bangs, bangs, bangs! Yes, bangs are still hot this winter. Whether you are sporting a short and sleek straight across bang or long and wavy side-sweep bang, bangs are the must have accessory for the season.

Pixie cuts or layered bobs are in for short hair. Or, wavy long hair is in for a long look. Either way, keep the look natural, especially if you have bangs. Creating an organic look that is simple is always in style.

Color

For this winter, brown is the winner. Any shade of brown: birchwood , honey, chestnut , cherry  chocolate or coffee bean. Whatever shade you like, it is in! Choose a color that is outside of your comfort zone and really heat things up this Winter. Whether you go warm, cool, light or dark, brown is the way to go.

Style

Based on the runways this winter, here are some suggestions for styles:

  • Braids—side braids, loose braids, fishtail braids. Any of these look good. If you tease up your hair and make it a messy braid, even better!
  • Ponytails—low ponytails, classic ponytails, high ponytails. The classic look is going a long way on the runways this year. Put a spin on this look with a retro high-volume poof in the front.
  • Buns—no, not sticky buns, hair buns. On top of the head, to the side or at the bottom of the neck. These can be worn sleek and sophisticated or messy and teased.

Get through the dry and dismal months of winter by changing things up and staying trendy with your winter hair. The cold weather matters less when you’re looking hot!
